2nd Annual Toby McCredie Golf Day - 27th Nov 2007
What a fantastic day ! It was a
little warmer on the course this year so luckily we were
well served by Ro and Bec on the drinks cart, and I
am sure that everyone would agree that they were much better
than me in making sure that all the teams got a drink, although
I still think I have it over them in the good looks
department. Overall it was a beautiful afternoon for golf and
the staff at Woodlands could not have presented the course in better
condition.
There was of course some intriguing
team tactics and the inevitable questionable score card or two but
for the most part everyone played in the spirit of the day and the
winning team from Life Bioscience scraped in by the narrowest of
margins despite finishing with a bogey on their last hole.
Team Noonan were up to their old
tricks claiming a couple of the on course competitions however they
were disqualified on the basis that they more than likely didn't
deserve it. They do deserve a special mention for the lovely pink
shirts, however next time your in Bali getting your shirts made you
might want to check the sizes a little more carefully.
After a long afternoon on the
course we retired to the bar for a few drinks to freshen up before
dinner and then were treated to a beautiful meal in the dining room
at Woodlands. After a very emotional video presentation from SIDS
and Kids, we were privileged to have Stan Alves speak to us and I
think everyone would agree than Stan's words were both thought
provoking and inspiring, and we thank Stan for his generosity by
giving of his time and sharing his experiences with us.
The charity auction was a great success, again in no small part due to the enthusiasm, quick wit and even well timed insults of Ashley Bramwich who brought out the best in those bidding on the night. So once again thank you to Ashley for your support.
We still have a bit of accounting
and collecting to do but it looks like we have had another
great result, so to all who attended on the day we appreciate your
generosity and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
Thank you for your support! SIDS and Kids Victoria could not do it without you!
